Client's business sector: For 50 years, Moray Seafoods has been a pioneer in the seafood industry and is one of the largest independent shellfish businesses in Scotland and employ between 100 and 150 staff (subject to seasonal demand.)
Country: UK
Challenge: To ensure that Moray Seafoods is using their budget for energy in the most effective way, the long- term relationship with M&C Energy Group has seen many developments in the utility markets, including deregulation and the team at M&C Energy Group has advised Moray Seafoods in relation to all areas of their energy usage.
M&C Energy Group's Strategy: To evaluate Moray Seafood's energy expenditure and ensure that it is being spent in the most appropriate way. To ensure that Moray Seafoods are aware of developments in the market and advise on the most suitable course of action for them.
Result: M&C Energy Group has implemented many recommendations for Moray Seafoods since 1997 when we began working on their behalf. In that time, savings of around £230,000 have been achieved.
Comment: Grant Eckersley, Managing Director of Moray Seafoods commented, "Over the (many) years M&C Energy Group has provided a wide range of services including generating savings on Electricity (most recently: we fixed prices in the summer of last year, so avoiding any price rise in 2008... brilliant) and Gas as part of their "basketing" system. Additionally they have lent their expertise to our Water usage by changing the meter size, to create an annual saving that is ongoing. In recent months, they have been able to advise us on the new Competition available for Water supply in Scotland. We have an excellent working relationship with the team at M&C Energy Group and feel that they have really helped to contribute to our 50 years of success."
